Tony Scott has travelled extensively throughout the Asia Pacific region for over twenty years and has held over 40 solo and group exhibitions in China since 1994 when he staged his first solo exhibition at the prestigious Red Gate gallery, Beijing. He is also a respected curator with 12 significant international exhibitions behind him and is the recipient of numerous government grants to support his important work.
Tony Scott’s art practice is a joyful exploration of the mediums and materials he works with – paper, ink, oil paint, wax, acrylic. He uses his painting, printmaking and installations as a visual diary of his travels and emotions. He has absorbed over the many years of his journeys and studies the various techniques used in both the classical and contemporary practice of Chinese and Western art techniques. He has an instinctual understanding of colour and line and uses these elements in particular to create exciting and dynamic compositions in his work.
